Use a GPS to find this compact market. Then, don’t be turned off by the rustic exterior. Inside is everything you need. We don’t eat a lot of meat, but the butcher, Gregory, has what we want. (I came home once with the thin kosher brisket from Trader Joe’s but I had to go out again to Jo-El’s because Gregory’s Peruvian beef was clearly superior.) The deli and cafe have everything you would expect, including salads, schnitzel, ribs, roasted chickens, sliced turkey, other cold cuts and, of course, corned beef. The dairy side has the the smoked fishes and everything else that goes on a bagel. There is an extensive Passover selection and special menus for prepared foods for holidays. Kosher life in Tampa Bay isn’t known for having a lot of options, but Jo-El’s satisfies the need.
